Imperfectly Sane was a community theatre project of the Mental Health Foundation of the ACT that I directed in May 2007. It consisted of monologues, songs and movement pieces written or devised by people living with a mental illness, and performed by four prominent Canberrans: David Whitney, manager of the Canberra Theatre Centre, Mick Gentleman, MLA, Emma Gibson, writer and Eleanor Sharpe, basketballer, with a Canberra Youth Theatre group and singer/songwriter Simone Penkethman. There were three performances at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre. The project was supported by the ACT Government. After the success of Imperfectly Sane, we mounted Imperfectly Sane Too in 2008.
